Nchimunya Wulf

The Phoenix is proud to announce the signing of our newest artist on JRA /jazz, the sultry, delightful Ms. Nchimunya Wulf. Congratulations!

"Like Destiny Muhammad, this jazz production will touch a very deep area of my jazz heart. And like Curtis Reed's wonderful and wise storytelling is suited uniquely to him, this project will be unconventional and suited to her kind, quiet, but effervescent aura. It will be like Aromatherapy for your ears. She's got a great vocal quality reminiscent of Norah Jones but with killer melismatic riffs, which will give me flexibility to do some pretty unconventional, saucy stuff compositionally.

"It's not easy for me to agree to produce someone, much less carry the artist on our label. There's too much of my soul involved, and I'm guarded because of that. The artist must not only be talented, but must remain true to the music and to me. When they leave my studio, they're carrying away a piece of my heart with them.
