NeoClassical and Classical Crossover Works

Classical Crossover, also referred to as NeoClassical (or New Classical) has been popularized by such prolific composers as Yanni, and more colorful artists of late such as harpist Debra Henson-Conant, both having masterfully melded various disciplines into one hybrid mix of what some listeners have referred to as Young Classical - not unlike the "new" genre now referred to as "Young Country" which puts a delightfully fresh spin on an old staple in order to appeal to a brand-new generation. Gone are the blatant southern twangs mixed with fiddles, knee-slapping and banjos, having been replaced with complex Pop vocal mixtures with decidedly R&B-styled vocal motifs.
However, as the name suggests, this is Classical "Crossover" - not Classical Abandonment. Homage is continually paid to the timeless classical works of the past, and surely these new composers have in no way conspired to displace these irreplacable works, but crafted merely to expand on themes born in antiquity, providing a new fragrance dedicated to the wide and varied palette of a new generation of listeners.
